Some of the topics that will be discussed are: when you should recruit, where the workers have gone, things you should do before you begin the recruiting process, what is contributing to the sluggish economy/recruiting challenges, and more!

One of the top challenges of any company today is finding qualified employees for their business. Wisconsin has a relatively low unemployment rate, which leads to difficulties finding qualified workers. This increases the need for different strategies, different approaches, and a different way of thinking when it comes to staffing your workforce. This presentation will provide three different viewpoints regarding staffing a business; as well as the experiences of one business owner, the causes of the challenges in the current talent market, and the business decisions regarding when you should add staff and the costs of vacant positions.

Attendees will hear from the small business owner and learn what human resource challenges caused her to change her hiring protocol, how she finds dedicated, loyal, and “full-ownership” employees, and how the most surprising professional growth has come from personally managing people. Attendees will also hear from the owner of a staffing agency, who will discuss what is contributing to these recruiting challenges, where the workers have gone, unemployment rates, what is needed to attract talent, and what your next steps should be. Lastly, attendees will hear from the owner of a consulting firm who works with a variety of businesses and who hears about their successes and challenges in this area every day. He will share tips and tricks on when you should recruit, the cost of vacant positions, and things you should do before beginning the recruiting process.
