Due to the uncertainties of COVID-19, and with consideration to the safety and well-being of all of our Career Expo participants, the Fox Cities Chamber is preparing a Future Fox Cities VIRTUAL Career Expo for 2021. This event promises to deliver the WOW factor to students, counselors, CTE teachers, parents and employers who want to stay connected and explore the wealth of career pathways and opportunities in the Fox Cities region!
SCHOOLS
8th-12th grades 8am to 3pm
College students 3pm to 4pm
This event is open to all 8th through 12th grade students in the Northeast Wisconsin region from 8am to 3pm, and college students from 3pm to 4pm. Students will have a wide variety of employer booths to explore and interact with, while also visiting the Virtual Auditorium to access educational webinars and videos. Students will participate in a full event Scavenger Hunt with a Leader Board and compete for Amazon gift cards for their schools (8th-12th only)!
Students will be able to conduct live chats with employers the day of the event and access employer booths on-demand (without chat/live features) for the whole month of March! Employer Profiles and other downloadable content about careers in the Fox Cities will also be posted within employer booths.
Students (8th -12th grades) will receive information on career based learning opportunities, job titles within these organizations, how their interests fit with employers, helpful high school courses to take, and post high school training or education needed to be hired.
SCHOOL REGISTRATION 8th - 12th Grades:
REGISTER HERE
Each student must be registered separately for this event. Registered students will also be able to access and explore the event on-demand for one month. We will disable the registration link when the event is full, or two weeks prior to the event.
Cost is $5 per student. Teachers, counselors, or schools will need to register with the Fox Cities Chamber first. (Register here.) You will then be sent a link to the Landing Page of the event. You can begin registering your students at that time. Each student must be registered separately on the Landing Page (Name, grade, email, school, and password). The teacher, counselor, or school will be sent an invoice based on their student registration count. The school is obligated for payment for the number of students registered on the site. Registration holds an open spot and cannot be re-filled once taken. Registered students will also be able to access and explore the event on-demand (without employer interaction) for one month.
NEW! Through a new partnership with Junior Achievement, educators who register will also receive via email lesson plans and activities to assist students in their preparation for the event. Lesson plans will cover such topics as choosing proper attire, creating and delivering an "elevator speech," and the general dos and dont's for interacting with employers.
At the event, students can participate in a Scavenger Hunt with Leader Board, competing for prizes that include Amazon gift cards and Samsung tablets. Students will have the opportunity to chat live with employers -- including information on career-based learning opportunities, job titles within these organizations, how their interests fit with employers, helpful high school courses, and post-high school training or education needed to be hired.
